English Cottage Rentals - The only way to find the real England.

English cottage rentals can save you money and allow you see the "real" England.

Many rentals are centuries old and most of them are tucked away in quaint English villages.

This is how my wife and I discovered England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland over the years. We would book a cottage for a week long stay and thoroughly explore the district then move on to another cottage to see the sights of a different area.

One of our cottages, although obviously refurbished, dated back to the late 1700’s – the doors were so low we had to tack a dish cloth on the top beam to remind us to duck our heads. But the thatched roof had no leaks and the English garden front and back made for a postcard picture.

Not only is it cheaper than hotels, especially if you’re sharing the weekly cost with another couple, but more importantly, you get to know the residents of the village – and all the local history and gossip - when you join them at the local pub.

There are numerous firms offering cottage rental listings – just search under “English cottage rentals.”

Listed in our personal travel journal is this outfit that handles our English cottage rentals.
